The desk clerk and other help (?) were sitting at the main entrance and smoking

This is now ABVI (Americas Beat Value Inn). Great guest relations. Clean. Quite for day sleeper. Awesome good beds. (Seem new). Awesome LCD TV's. Fast wireless. Love the staff.
We had one kleenex tissue in our box and had to ask for another.
We (4 adults) were on M/C and had been traveling all day. We stopped in at the Park Inn, but they were booked. They were kind enough however, to call down to the Super 8 and inquire as to whether they had 2 rooms available. We were assured they did, we got back on the bikes and drove the few mile down there. 5 minutes later, when we arrived, we were told that they actually only had one room, with one queen bed, and do we want it (SERIOUSLY?). The clerk, when questioned about the call from the Park Inn, actually said that "sometimes he has to lie". Why? Didn't stay, glad we didn't. Looked funky, certainly had funky behavior.
Also, it appeared a man and his dog were living in the back parking lot. His dog was
open.
The entire place smells like smoke - we supposedly had a non smoking room but
Nice little motel,fridge and microwave in most rooms,hd tv's,staff's very pleasant. I was here for work so not very picky
when we arrived. They had to come in to register us...and they reeked of smoke.
Had issue with hot water... The boiler system went down for a few days. Management made it right with us with free nights. Thank you. We will stay here again when in area.
and a car loaded with clothes and other personal items. During the day he worked with various equipment on a picnic table right next to the door. He seemed to be working on a car whose hood was always open...tinkering about. He was on the steps when I came out one morning on the 2nd floor...he must have grabbed the door as I left because when I came back he put a screw driver in the door jam to hold it
tied up there a great deal of the time we were there (3 days). The man had a truck
